Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens

I cannot believe I have lived in Washington, DC, for nearly 30 years and had never been to the Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens. After seeing a number of friends sharing beautiful images on Instagram, I was inspired to visit. If you live in, or plan to visit, the DC area, please consider a visit to the Aquatic Gardens. It's free to visit and there's ample parking. You should definitely bring some rain boots, hiking boots, water shoes, or some pair of shoes that you're ok with getting muddy. I would advise bringing two pairs — one to muck up and a clean pair and some newspaper in the trunk of your car for the muddy pair.

The images below were taken during my visit. They were all shot on a Nikon D300 DSLR, equipped with a Nikkor 105mm macro lens. The images here were pulled straight from the memory card and have not been edited or enhanced.
